For upcoming celebrations and festivities, today we’re playing with glitter. A whole lot of shimmer! We whisked up a couple of different versions of these sparkling vases, both of which are quick and easy. They’re excellent for parties, weddings or simply to add a touch of shine to your dining room table. We sincerely love how they turned out!
Yera glass jars (preferably with smooth, straight sides)
Glitter (colour of your choice)
For the first vase, we used a small jar and utilising the foam brush, applied a thin and uniform coat of glue on the inner walls of the jar. Next, we sprinkled in an ample amount of glitter while turning the jar we also tapped the sides to get the glitter to evenly coat the glue.
Then we simply let the jar dry. It takes a couple of hours, depending on how thick you apply the glue. Any extra glitter can just be dusted off and can be placed back in the original jar for reuse. If you missed any spots on the jar, simply apply an another layer practicing the same method using a thin layer of glue, then apply glitter.
For the second variant, I used another Yera jar and went for a glitter-dipped look. Firstly, tag your jar by a piece of masking tape. How much of the facade you require to be capped in glitter will determine where to put the tape. We coated about 2/3 of the jar. Then blanket the area beneath the tape with glue using a foam brush.
Next, we used a copper glitter and covered the outside of the jar. You’ll get a great mess with this one so make sure you cover your workspace with old newspaper. Once the glitter/glue combination is dry, apply an added thin coat of glue on the outside of the glass (or spray with a spray sealant to be sure to shield the area not coated with glitter from getting sprayed) to lock the glitter in the spot!
Once everything transpired nice and dry, we had two of the prettiest Yera glass jar vases going! These would also look adorable holding makeup brushes on a vanity or keep pens and pencils smart and tidy on your table. Shimmer! Seriously, who doesn’t simply adore glitter?
