- Prep: 10 mins
- Cook: 20 mins
- Yields: 10-15 ladoos
1Dry roast the besan in a kadhai or a pan on a slow flame for about 10-12 mins.
2Keep on stirring continuously so that the besan is not overcooked and roast till evenly browned.
3Melt the ghee and keep aside.
4Add the liquefied ghee and continue roasting the besan for about 5-6 minutes, stirring it continuously.
5The besan would start to give a nice nutty fragrance and will start releasing ghee.
6Once you get a strong nutty fragrance then turn off the flame and set it aside.
7Now add powdered sugar or boora. To get the best taste, use the boora.
8Add the powdered cardamom and raisins.
9You can also add chopped dry fruits at this stage, it's optional.
10Stir well to avoid forming lumps.
11Once that's done, set it aside to cool down to room temperature.
12Make small or medium sized balls of the mixture.
13Tada!! Besan laddoos are now ready to eat!
14 Store the rest of the laddoos in air tight container.
If you are facing difficulty to make the laddoos even when the mixture has cooled completely, then keep the mixture in the fridge for about 20 to 30 minutes. The ghee will harden a bit then you will be able to make the besan laddoos easily.
To make the laddoos more healthy, you can add dry fruits like almonds, raisins, cashews or pistachios.
